If you’ve been golfing regularly this year, right now—the end of Northeast Ohio golf season—is the best your swing will ever get in 2023. That makes it the perfect time to get fitted for new clubs: if you wait until spring, you’ll be rusty from a long winter indoors and you’ll have to work on your game all over again. Skeptical? Take it from Tiger Woods:
"I’ve always tested when I’m actually hitting well. I don’t want to test when I’m hitting poorly because then I think you can find a club that’s going to Band‑Aid it, and you really don’t know what truly is going to happen when your game turns around.”
We understand that every golfer is unique, and finding the perfect set of clubs can greatly enhance your performance on the course. The golf club fittings at the Linksman Golf Academy at StoneWater are designed to provide you with a completely personalized and customized experience, ensuring that you have the right equipment to suit your swing and playing style.
For precision and accuracy during our fittings, our state-of-the-art heated fitting bays are equipped with advanced technology provided by TrackMan. TrackMan's radar technology is widely regarded as the gold standard in the industry, offering detailed insights into your swing dynamics and ball flight characteristics. Our bays sit on our range for the most realistic approach.
By analyzing crucial data such as clubhead speed, launch angle, spin rate, and more, we can make informed recommendations on club specifications that will optimize your performance – from tee to green.
It’s finally time to upgrade from your starter set of hand-me-down clubs.
You consider yourself anywhere from a total beginner to an expert golfer and you’re looking to make improvements to your hook, slice, speed, distance, or something else.
You’ve golfed before but it’s been awhile and you’re looking to get back into the game.
I'm a casual golfer who had 20 year old clubs and had never been fit before. Joe worked with me for over an hour, watching me swing countless times to understand my swing, habits, and ball flight. With the TrackMan technology combined with Joe's expertise, my new clubs now work with me and my swing, and it's had an incredible impact on my overall golf game.

Do I have to be a “good” golfer?
No! Even if you don’t see yourself as a “good” golfer, how can you improve on your skill with ill-fitting equipment? We see every type of golfer—from beginners to experts—and regardless of skill set, everyone sees significant game improvement with clubs that are fitted correctly and personalized to them.
You can expect your full bag fitting to take about 2 hours. Here’s what your time at the Linksman Golf Academy will look like:
Arrive at StoneWater 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time to stretch and warm up on the range.
At your appointment time, head to the Linksman Golf Academy, which sits to the left of the range and before the 10th hole. Our fully enclosed, heated bays allow our customers to actually hit on our driving range to ensure proper ball flight, a key component to a quality fitting.
Meet your fitter and talk through the goals of the session.
Hit a number of shots with your own clubs so we can collect baseline data points.
Hit shots with clubs from numerous manufacturers. With our technology and expertise, we determine the correct shaft, loft, lie angle, flex, length, and other factors that will help you hit longer and straighter shots.
After your fitting, you will be presented with the best recommended clubs and a proposal with costs.
If you decide to move forward with your purchase, a member of our Pro Shop team will place an order for your clubs. Most orders arrive within 2 to 3 weeks
